2009 LIFE3 Heat Red Carpet Premiere Event
On November 14, 2009, LIFE3 and the Miami Heat Group hosted the first Annual Heat Red Carpet event prior to tip-off of the Miami Heat vs. New Jersey Nets Game. The concourse was transformed to host an audience of 200-plus attendees (which included students, parents, school staff, sponsors and invited guests), who gathered to celebrate and screen the youth movie, "Just Between Tweens".
The exhilaration continued during half time when the LIFE3 Reels student contest winners participated in the Miami Heat Fan Tunnel. Following the nail-biting last 5-second win by the Miami Heat, all attending students had the opportunity to try their hoop skills at a 3-point shot.
2010 LIFE3 Heat Red Carpet Premiere Event
On December 4, 2010, LIFE3 and the Miami Heat Group celebrated and acknowledged the creativity of our students enrolled in the LIFE Reels 2010 Workshop. This event featured the premiere of the youth movie, “Homecoming Week”, the launch of the Haitian Awareness Relief Project, poetry, and the debut performance of the youth band, Royal Catastrophe (participants enrolled this summer's workshop who, under the guidiance of musician Pepper Bagby, collaborated to write, produce, and perform an original song for the "Homecoming Week" soundtrack). Also, Mr. Bagby was honored presented with a gift of appreciation for his commitment and amazing work with our students, and for producing the entire movie score.
The celebration continued during halftime of the Miami Heat vs. Atlanta Hawks game (Heat won 89-77), as the students saw their names appear above center-court on the jumbotron. They also enjoyed a post-game 3-point shoot-out on the court.
2012 LIFE3 Heat Red Carpet Premiere Event
On March 10, 2012, LIFE3 and the Miami Heat Group celebrated our 3rd Annual Heat Red Carpet event and premiered the third youth movie installment (conceived, scripted, produced and starring the youth enrolled in the 2011 LIFE Reels Youth Workshop) "New Beginnings". The evening featured live music from the youth band, Royal Catastrophe, a poem from fellow student participant, Aniqua, and a special presentation from Udonis Haslem. Our students were also given a half-time jumbotron shout out.
LIFE3 has proven to be a lucky charm for our home team, the Miami Heat, as they won 93 to 91 over the Indiana Pacers…we are 3-for-3.
