LIFE3 hallmarked the success of its pilot program, LIFE Reels Youth Workshop, with the creation of “Just Between Tweens”.  This short film was conceived and scripted by 5th and 6th graders. It stars fellow students, their parents and teachers. This inspirational movie tackles issues of being teased, mean texting, trying to fit in with the cool kids, having a sick parent, hiding bad grades, and being the new kid in school.

“Homecoming Week” is the second movie installment from the student participants in the LIFE Reels Youth Workshop. Tested friendships, hurt feelings from a mean prank, and a crush that causes confusion are storylines that culminate at the homecoming dance. During this workshop emerged Royal Catastrophe (participants enrolled this summer's workshop who, under the guidiance of musician Pepper Bagby, collaborated to write, produce, and perform an original song for the "Homecoming Week" soundtrack). Also, Mr. Bagby produced an original score for the entire film.

The main storyline developed during the 2011 LIFE Reels Youth Workshop was submitted by one of our fifth grade students. Using the storyline as a skeleton, the writing team (consisting of fifth to eight grade students) brought "New Beginnings" to life. Our main character, Amanda, learns a valuable lesson about friendship when she decides to make an enemy out of a potential friend.
